So this week I’m delighted to have completed on a little project that I’ve been working on for about 5/6 weeks. I was approached in January by an estate agent on behalf of a client – they were looking to refurbish a two bedroom flat in a great location in Angel, North London. The client lives abroad but wanted me to take a look to see how I could bring the space back to life a bit and update it … his description was to create a more contemporary but city-living like […] Continue reading →
I saw this snap of a bathroom whilst doing some pinning today on Pinterest and decided to ignore my current blog post and share this instead: I love the mosaics on the wall – their intricate ikat pattern and simple stone worktop compliment one another so well. I’ve recently fallen in love with anything that has an ikat print on it … I’m not sure what it is about this type of design; perhaps it is the individuality of each print that I see or the mix of colours that are used, but I absolutely love it! Ikat (sometimes spelt Ikkat) is a dying technique which is used to create pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dying. It is an age-old process and is thought to have originated from South East Asia […] Continue reading →
