How to: Keeping cosy this winter

Posted in | Tags : , , ,

Winter is definitely here. The morning’s are cold and frosty and before it reaches 4pm it’s already dark outside! I’ve come up with a few tips for this week to help you keep your home feeling cosy and welcoming for the rest of the cold winter months.

1. A selection of soft throws

Throws make all the difference. Drape them over your sofas, armchairs and beds – even when you are not using them to sit under and keep warm they make a space feel cosy with their softness.

2. Keep it warm by candle light

Candles make a space feel cosy and add a warm ambience to any room. Over the winter months decorate your mantel piece or a shelf with some tea lights or fresh holiday candles which smell of cinnamon and all things christmassy.

3. Christmas Carols

Keeping a space feeling cosy is about all of the senses – as well as being able to see and touch make sure that you can also hear. A good way to do this is to have some Christmas or wintery carols playing in the background if you don’t have your TV on. It’s also perfect for entertaining to get people in the Christmassy spirit …

4. Keeping warm with some winter beverages

As I mentioned above, its not just about see and touch – it’s also about taste and smell too. Make sure you always have some festive mugs on hand to make your guests and friends a cup of tea or perhaps a mulled wine of some sort … not only are they useful, festive mugs also look great as decor within your kitchen

I hope this will give you some inspiration and help you to make your home a little cosier in the coming months …!
