This incredible bed was created by Joseph Walsh. He’s one of a handful of designers out there right now who is creating bespoke furniture out of functional sculptures.

The Enignum Bed forms part of his Formations Collection. His passion and imagination are explored indepth through this piece of work as he explores the potential of wood not only as a material for furniture, but as a structure, form and material in it’s own right. Note how the wood bends – it’s a remarkable piece of work as normally we think of wood as sturdy and solid in shape and form.

To make the bed he explored cutting wood into thin layers and free form bending of wood. This process enabled him to see how wood has a natural elastic form to it.

The silk draped over the elegant frame adds a further softness to the already eco looking bed. The bed looks calm and enticing – the perfect place for sweet dreams.

The bed is elegant and extraordinary – its an amazing piece of artwork – something truly unique!
