Today the room I’m swooning over is a bathroom I found when I was reading Vintage and Chic’s blog … when you look at the snap below it’s really not hard to see why! Growing up I was always told never to mix silver and gold … and I’ve always kind of abided by that rule my mother taught me – until now! Looking at this image I think the gold of the mirror & wall sconces stands out beautifully against the mirrored bathroom cabinet … which in a […] Continue reading →

Bathrooms come in all shapes and sizes – from modern and contemporary through to completely classic and traditional. This week I’m working on a bathroom design for a client who loves grey and traditional styled spaces and I found this bathroom on KBCulture … a blog dedicated to bathrooms and kitchens. This space has given me so much inspiration for their design. The gorgeous floor tiles along with the grey and white panelling and traditional sanitary ware has made this a […] Continue reading →

This year’s colour is Emerald Green; lively, bold and radiant … it’s a colour which is elegant and beautiful. Pantone 17-5641 provides a sense of balance and harmony and I believe this to be true in any of it’s applications. This year, we’ll see Emerald as a prominent colour in fashion, design, decor and home interior trends. I believe it is, without doubt, a perfectly colour to provide calm, serenity and balance in any home or interior design. Eatrice Eiseman, […] Continue reading →

I was just browsing on Pinterest a minute ago and came across this amazing wooden splashback … so thought I’d share it. I’ve never thought about using wood as the splashback in a kitchen but I think that the different sizes, colours and textures of the pieces of wood make for an interesting feature …  The Design Fairy x […] Continue reading →

Yesterday I was focusing on Home Office‘s which had the animal print theme to them … today my room inspiration is from Meghan Carter’s blog … Much like Meghan, I grew up thinking that animal print was a bit tacky … but as you’ve seen throughout my blog posts this week I’ve actually come to quite like it. I think if done correctly, i.e. not over the top, adding a little splash of animal print here or there can be a great focal point within a room […] Continue reading →

So as you can see from my Colour Concept and Design Find posts this week – I’m focusing on ANIMAL PRINT! Generally I’ve never been a huge fan of it … but a friend recently asked if I could source her an animal print stool for her make-up desk and I think I’m slowly beginning to change my mind. I think the thing about using animal print within interior design is to ensure that you use one or two key pieces – rather than going animal print crazy if you […] Continue reading →

Making a master bedroom into a stylish masterpiece isn’t too tricky, but making your master bathroom something a little more special can be a little more difficult. This week’s roomspiration has come via Adore Your Place. Cathy, blog owner, wrote a brilliant post on Master Bathrooms this week and I fell in love with the first image; it completely caught my eye … As always, I am a huge fan of symmetry. But, I think what draws me even more to this image is the beautiful […] Continue reading →

Decorating on a shoe string budget? If you’re looking to achieve a beach-style effect or perhaps want something a little different … why not try and decorate using sea shells? Here are a few ideas … Using a glass canister or vase, simply fill with shells, starfish and other beach finds. I like the idea above; the decorater has used a marker to write the location of the vacation on the seashell and hang it from the side of the glass with twine. The canister can make an […] Continue reading →
